I have also been developing, building and road testing my bike trailer that converts to suit case idea here in the work shop. Unfortunately I was unable to make it to the SLO Stand Down due to difficulties with tech gear and the fact that I chewed up my ride time testing and repairing the bike setup.
We have allied with the United States Veterans Artist Alliance, and this is very cool. The main focus of my daily activity has been developing the logistical plan for the D.C. trip.
The actual trip is technically a "march to end homelessness and raise awareness about PTSD" and the idea is to hold "Vet Fest" in the various locations.
The package looks something like this:
Arrive in the city or town, and flyer/outreach/table for a day or two.
The Vet Fest is then produced, singularly or in association with what ever groups I have previously contacted, services, food, arts and entertainment, etc.
There is a screening of the film, followed by a QnA, then the bands, and party.
The idea behind Vet Fest is to make it festive, not a bummer trip. To be relateable and hip to younger vets and service members.
I really need help with this!
Other than that, time is slipping away...not building the support I require for the Occupation of Chrissie Field, yet I still want to stage and launch from there...maybe not on June 6 as I had hoped for....
Warm up/dress rehearsal march to Sacramento at date TBA.
