AD and I "met" on-line, she had been following the blog and the work One Lib and I were doing. She determined for herself to help us, to assist, as it were in any meaningful way. For her that meant travelling south in the Peace Van to find us on the road.
As it turned out, after Lib went back to SF to conduct his operations there, I was left alone, bereft, without camera or companion. For 10 days, I wandered the vast Arizona desert between Eloy and Phoenix and back. Now, do not mistake my tone. It was absolutely fulfilling, except for the fact that I got nothing done work-wise.
Not much opportunity to raise awareness or funds amongst the scrub and the vultures, prairie dogs and rocks.
So I connect with Debbie and she picks me up in Eloy. She is with her freind Rick, and we head into Tuscon. The Internatioal,month-long Gem and Mineral Show is in town, and we end up camping at a nearby "camp ground" populated with Occupiers and "dirty kids" attending the gem show. We helped out around camp and generally just enjoyed ourselves, I resting after my trek, and she, just enjoying herself and the company. We spent 5 night there before heading south east towards the border, where we decided to camp in the saguaro cactus forest in Gilbert-Ray, then we moved further to the Casino De Sol parking lot, where folks can camp out in the parking lot hassle free and not to far from the conveinience of the city.
Currently we have been getting her camera all dialled in and calibrated with the soft ware/apps stuff, and we attended and anti-war/save the wilderness dual-demo. We are attending the Peace Faire on the 22nd, where I will set up my display and assist with the local VFP #13 and have the flag signed. Then come Sunday or Monday, we will push even further East, going for El Paso.
