Tallahassee marks the end point for the eastward push, and now begins the northward journey through Georgia and the Carolinas. I am being hosted by Tom Baxter at his place here in Tallahassee, he picked me up last night from Quincey, and I am so grateful because my legs felt like rubber after a 40+ mile hump from Marianne. It had rained the night before, so it was very muggy even though the weather was cool.
Tallahassee is my RnR point, that is, to get the bike tightened up, gear up and rest a little, doing research and enjoying the company of an elder vet. I will make an effort to erhaps get a ride to Gainesville, but Scott's birthday is sunday, and he is very busy right now with his chapter. I need to make some calls and see if I cant' get there to help them set up an Arlington.
The weather and the terrain have slowed me down somewhat, so I am hoping that 2 months is enough time to get to the NatCon. There are some heavy altitudes ahead of me, and more heat, mosquitoes and hungry days.
