March Across America

Challenging the homeless veteran to stand up for their rights as human beings by taking our bodies and voices to Washington D.C.
Be advised I am still recruiting able bodied veterans for the mission. You must have endurance, integrity, passion, and a real comitment to non violence AS A WAY OF LIFE. I am not talking about realistic applications of self defense, I am talking about if you feel that violence, anger and hostility are the first resort in conflict managment/resolution, don't bother. There is enough hostility in the world, keep it away from me. You need to have servicable gear and about a year to go adventuring. Please be politically educated and holistically motivated. All skills needed.
You should have balls (or boobies) the size of Texas, but the self confidence to not have to whip them out. Many aspects of the mission are covertly conducted, and others are very public. We will be camping and breaking local laws. So be advised.
It will be cold, wet and nasty at times. Other times scorching hot and dirty. There may be insects or wildlife. You must be in harmony with nature, and radiate peace.

TUCUMCARI

Nearly 300 miles later, I find myself in Tucumcari reconning the area for a food pantry because my SNAP benefits have run out. The journey was filled with intense weather, and of course trying to set up the shelter in the middle of an intense hail storm on the open plains is no joke. What I will usually do is set up a basic wind block using the trailer, and hunker down if the shit gets too intense. But usually I just push through it, because I love heavy weather.
The other night a lovely lady asked me if I wanted to get a hotel room (raises eyebrow)...
IT WASN'T LIKE THAT.
She was very nice and her name is Kristina. She PAID for me to get a room in Santa Rosa.
I spent yesterday on the road all the way here.
